On D-Day (June 6, 1944), 60 years ago, American and Allied forces entered the continent of Europe on the Normandy coast to begin “The Great Crusade” to liberate Europe from Nazi oppression. In Normandy, Americans fought with courage, determination and honor. They saw their comrades pay the ultimate price in the defense of freedom and liberty.
